Pastor Steve O’Brien is a graduate of Central Bible College (Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies) and Ashland Theological Seminary (Masters of Divinity in Pastoral Counseling). He received his license to preach in 1980 and was ordained in 1982 by the General Council of the Assemblies of God.
His history with LifeSpring spans a total of 29+ years. He began as Youth Pastor, returned as Associate Pastor and in 2007 was elected to serve as Lead Pastor… the position he has held now for 11 years. He is one of only three Lead or Senior Pastors in LifeSpring history (60+ years) (Previous pastors were Rev Mel L. Bennett and the founder, Rev. D.F. Ferguson). Pastor Steve was also Lead Pastor for two small ministries. (Newberry Springs Assembly of God, CA and Reedsburg Church of God, OH)
He is a retired United States Air Force Chaplain, having been commissioned 1989 and attaining the Rank of Colonel in June of 2012. He has served both active duty and reserve components. As an officer he is a graduate of Squadron Officer School, Air Command and Staff College and Air War College.
Although he loves watching all college football, he is an Ohio State fanatic and an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. He is a player on LifeSpring’s softball team.
Pastor Steve is a husband to the love of his life, Laurie, a father to two beautiful and intelligent daughters (Steffani Warns and Staci Campbell) and grandpa (“Pop”) to four granddaughters (Amberlin, Analie, Mikayla, and Aria) and three grandsons (Ansel, Luke and Ander). (“Pop” to a few great LifeSpring family kids too!)
