Sermon Notes
Every year we make resolutions: spend more time with family and friends, do more sports, eat healthy, lose weight, have less stress, get more sleep, get out in nature, and give up old habits. Most don’t last. What if instead of asking, “What do I want to change?” we asked, “What does God require of me?” If we get that right, everything else follows.
This year isn’t about self-improvement. It’s about God-alignment. Scripture already tells us what leads to a better life.
Deuteronomy 10:12-13 NKJV
12 “And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13 and to keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes which I command you today for your good?
1) Know Who God Is
2) Fear Him
3) Walk in His Ways
4) Love Him
5) Serve Him
6) Obey Him
If you focus on knowing God, fearing Him, walking in His ways, loving Him, serving Him, and obeying Him, you won’t just end 2026 better. You’ll be closer to who you were created to be.
Don’t follow resolutions. Follow Him.
