Sermon Notes

1. THE SIGN OF IMMANUEL (Isaiah 7:14)
"Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son and will call Him Immanuel."

2. O IMMANUEL (Isaiah 8:8)
We read of Immanuel once again in a single cry that says, "O Immanuel" as a reminder to Israel that even though they were to be carried into captivity by the Assyrians, God would be with them.

3. OUR IMMANUEL (Matthew 1:20-23)
... an angel spoke to Joseph saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name of Jesus because He will save His people from their sins."

All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet (referring to Isaiah 7:14). The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel, which means God with us.
