Kenny Metcalf Check out the videos of this interview at Lifespring.TV!
My guest today is Kenny Metcalf, who introduced the guys in the group, Stryper, to Jesus…before there was a Stryper. He went on to become Stryper’s keyboard player, touring with them all around the United States.
In today’s interview, Kenny talks about some of his experiences with the group, and then tells us how his life and the Old Testament’s Job have some amazing parallels. He tells of the healing power of God, and how we can have faith, even in the midst of terrible hardships.

I have got such a great show for you, and I can’t wait to introduce one of today’s great musicians to you. If you are not familiar with the music of Phil Keaggy, believe me, you are in for a treat. If you ARE familiar with him, you are in for a treat, too, because you are going to get to hear him in a way that you probably never have…because Phil and I had a chance to talk last week for over an hour, and you are going to get to know another dimension of this remarkably gifted man.
During our conversation, we talked about many different musicians, and I have woven some clips of most of them into our conversation, so you’re going to get to sample many different artists and genres today. Kind of an audio smorgasborg. I hope you like it, and I hope you’ll give me feedback. Call me toll free at 877-433-9091, or email me at steve.lifespring@gmail.com.
By the way, I mention in the show that the new CD, Phantasmagorical, will be released “any minute.” The CD is NOW AVAILABLE! Buy it now here or here!
John Schlitt is a name that, for many people conjures up memories of a hard rockin’ band from the midwest called Head East. I think their biggest hit was Never Been Any Reason, which is still played by classic rock stations around the country. John was one of the founding members, the lead singer, of Head East in August of 1969, but left the band to go to school not long after, only to return in 1973, after earning a degree in civil engineering. Head East has a reputation for putting on unbelievable shows. High energy, high volume, rockin’ music, that crowds love.
Several years later, as John relates in today’s show, the already award winning Christian rock band, Petra, called and asked him to join them as their new lead singer.
Petra played their last gig in 2007, but John Schlitt has released his third solo effort with “The Grafting”. Listen to the show to hear John tell his story, talk about this great new project, and hear some of the songs.

Now, on with the show!
I cannot tell you how unbelievable excited i am to have this show for you today. What an incredible honor it is to be able to have you, the lifespring family, be the very first to hear Dove award winning, multi gold and platinum albums recipient, Contemporary Christian Music pioneer, survivor, my friend, my neighbor, and my brother in Christ, Bryan Duncan and his NehoSoul band’s brand new, not yet even available in stores or online, brand new CD called “Still Dancin’” It’s so new that mastering was just completed a day or two ago. My copy of the CD is still warm, just out of the oven.
Bryan came to my house just yesterday…I’m recording this on Tuesday morning, July 22, 2008, and spent a couple of hours with me talking about the album. We videotaped part of our conversation, so you’ll want to keep an eye on Lifespring.TV, youtube, mevio, and other places over the next several days because I’m going to be releasing the video in chunks, and we recorded the audio that you are about to hear. I don’t think this has ever been done…at least I’ve never heard anything like what you are about to hear…and I think you’re really going to like the next 56 minutes. So let’s get right to it…
