The topic today is a mystery to some people, and I got an email highlighting that fact.
I got an email this past week asking about the Holy Spirit.
The person writing said that they know very little about the Holy Spirit , and asked me to do a show about Him. Actually the writer asked me to do a show about “it”, but the Holy Spirit is not an “it”, the Holy Spirit is a “He”.
How many times have you been driving down the road, when you became aware that you were headed in the wrong direction? You know, you need to get somewhere…maybe you’ve never been to this place before. You’ve heard of the place, maybe even had some people tell you about it, and give you directions.
But somewhere along the way, things don’t look quite right….

For what do you want to be known? What do you want people to say about you? Do you want to be rich? Famous? If all the people who knew you were gathered in one room, and you were a fly on the wall, what would they be saying about you? What would you want them to be saying?
Should a believer have standards? With whom and with what should we be identified? After all, Jesus hung out with sinners, right? If He did, do you think he followed their lead, or was it the other way around?
People say that God loves everyone, and that we should leave it up to Him to show them their errors. That we should just love them and accept them.
Okay, but how far does that go? When does this mindset move from being loving and compassionate to impotent and ineffective? When do we become laughing stocks, and worse yet, when do we cross the line from being loving and accepting, to encouraging and endorsing?
