Political pressure seeks to minimize embarrassment.
“Let’s not do anything that may make people think we are reckless.”
“Praise should be orderly!”
“There should be nothing that would embarrass the senses of our dear people.”
“We do not want others to think we are crazy.”
“Our praises may make others uncomfortable.”
Why are we worried about the sensitivities of people? If we bow to the pressure of others, it may stifle the very praise that God desires from us. Worship should be for God… not for man. It should show an abandonment of any pressure to be liked or a concern to be “cool”.
