EVANGELISM OR PROSELYTIZING?
If you had the opportunity to share really fantastic news with someone and you knew it would change the course of their life for eternity, would you speak up or not? If you love people like God loves people, you would share. We bring the good news that the Father wants to reconcile the world to himself through his Son Jesus. People are not forced to choose but God wants everyone to have the opportunity. Everyone means exactly that…everyone. So what we call evangelism (sharing our faith with others) some call proselytizing which has a negative connotation in our culture. If you understand it properly, we wouldn’t be very loving if we didn’t share with everyone.
WHY MISSIONS?
Missions are not something that any denomination created. It is the words of Jesus who gave marching orders to the body of Christ (the church) to share the gospel to the entire world. LifeSpring has long been a strong supporter of missions work all over the globe and here at home. We have months when we raise awareness to different missions and invite home and foreign missionaries to come and share what’s going on in their work.
WE ENCOURAGE GIVING TO MISSIONS.
As one of the most affluent societies in the world we not only CAN support financial needs we SHOULD support financial needs abroad. On this part of the website you will see the missions that we support. We will have spotlights on a different mission each month so that you can see more detail about what they do. We’ll try to put a face to your giving. We will also provide a link to the General Council of the Assemblies of God and their missions program. Notice that if you give online there is a place to designate to missions.
