Lifespring! Sunday 135 “The Prodigal, Part 3″
Pastor Steve O’Brien brings us part three of the series on “The Lost Son”.
We have seen how loving and accepting the Father is. We have seen the joyful return of the younger son…and now our attention turns to the “First Born” son.
Many do not understand that the eldest son is the focal point of the entire message. Jesus’ listeners are represented in the eldest son. They were critical of Jesus spending time with sinners! They said of him, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” Their shock and disdain for the lost becomes the focal point for all three parables, the lost coin, the lost sheep and the lost son.
Let’s listen in as Jesus now deals with a lack of understanding among the religious authorities of the time.
